JFTP::write: Bad response | Unable to open configuration.php

Today I encount a mistake when I was using the system of Joomla.

You don’t konw Joomla? then Search it in Google! damn

I want to modify the configuration.php, but the joomla system said something wrong

then I get the following messages

* JFTP::write: Bad response

Message

* An Error has occurred! Unable to open configuration.php file to write!

I know I have my ftp settings correct and I check the FTP , but still not working.

then I set the file permission to 777, and still not work…

so sad I am….

but I try to modify the file of configuration directly and it can be…

i don’t konw why

some people said it’s because the seting for FTP, we must use the right FTP address.

so I do it.

and finally, it works.

If you get the same problem, that must be the FTP setting , address, make sure it’s not 127.0.0.1 or localhost. it must be your real FTP address

thx a ton , i have been looking/googling/trying and failed in to this problem for about 4-5 hours , after i i upgraded from 1.5.10 to .14 , suddenly i got the JFTP error. Have tried so many options and all wrong solutions.
