Rumors that Mercedes-Benz is planning to create a roomier Smart two-seater vehicle have been circulating since the launch of the Smart four-seater vehicle several years ago. According to a report by Manager-Magazin, Mercedes is in talks with Renault for a new four-seater to be sold under the Smart brand.
No details about this or of a potential smart four-seater model have been released. Last March, it was Autoexpress that discussed the possibility of a Fortwo + 2, a model based on the Fortwo, except for the rear doors. The car supposedly comes with a slightly different wheelbase to widen the space for rear passengers. The report back then projected a 2012 arrival. Still, there is no confirmation.
