   I was enjoying the song, and it suddenly cut of at the very end “night on the To-”
   Short, sweet and sudden, just like Janis. I was fortunate to meet her at Woodstock, I was just a kid, but she made a big impression on me.

   i luv janis’s voice!! that raspiness and rawness is what makes it so damn fucking beautiful.. and she may not have been the the most beautiful gilr in the world but she was on of the most attractive, and that to me means everything.
   that noise from her voice is her pure soul and heart. the soul cannot be denied. she sings as an angel. ok, she’s well before my time but i KNOW you cannot quantify that emotive sound. no simon cowell or whoever cannot ‘make’ that sound.. it’s real.

   She was just having fun, singing this lil song. Janis was unique…and original, which is more than can be said for today’s pop tartlets!

Its amazing you took the time to actually search Janis Joplin, Pic a song, and listen to it knowing that you don’t like it. =] She is amaaaaazzzzzing and beautiful.

   Its so funny how people are calling her an ugly talentless hack. Her voice is incredibly raspy and I’m assuming that’s what turns people off, but she’s not an opera singer, she sings country, blues, rock and soul. A great raspy voice like that has always been considered beautiful in those genres. It sounds honest and true and its not as if she couldn’t sing the notes, that’s there. Its that usually men are the ones that sing like that: Otis Redding, Kurt Cobain, Tom Waits, Howlin Wolf, etc.

    She was a horrid, HORRID cunt. Absolutely disgusting. That’s why her college campus voted her “Ugliest Guy on Campus”. Grotesque in appearance and grotesque in sound.
    My bulldog farted while she was sleeping and it was more pleasant to the ear than Janis’ voice.

    40 years later we are still watching her perform. Mercedes, Cry Baby, Bobby Magee, all classics in a career all tooo short. But maybe the drugs and whatever else was part of the personae and passion to perform..
