Does it matter if a car has high mileage yet it is made well by cadillac or mercedes-benz?
Add commentsI’ve been browsing cars lately trying to find one to buy.
Since I don’t know anything about cars… i was wondering if:
say there is like a 97 or so cadillac or mercedes but it has like 150,000 or so miles or more on it. would it not even be worth buying because it would break down easily or would it be a somewhat good investment because it is made by mercedes-benz or cadillac
(sorry if the question is a tad confusing)
thanks.

Any car with high mileage that was cared for and maintained is less likely to break down

just because a car is expensive doesnt mean that it is high quality

I would say that milege is just a tad bit too high.
Opt for something more of 75,000-100,000.
Mercedes Benz, Cadilliac, Volvo, Honda, Toyota, && Lexus made cars usually last up to 200,000 + miles IF you take good care/maintenence of them.

its not like about the car brand, (ok maby a bit) but more about in what state the car is an it differs per specific model.
but its definetly not that Cadillac has more mile cars then lets say toyota or something.
Per instance i know that Ford crown victoria p71’s are endurance cars. i have seen alot of them with 200.000+ miles and saw just a couple of days ago a 1995 vic with 425.000 miles still running very strong.

No Cadillac its made by GM and I have had 3 cars and I only got 180,000 from them max. Buy a honda at 100,000 they are just broke in.

Neither one is good for investing money in. The Cadillac wants very badly, to just go to sleep. The Mercedes wants to do a good job, like Germans do, but demands also the best care, which is very expensive. It might be kept going 500,000 miles, but that will cost you as much as 20 toyotas .

the mileage don,t mean nothing ! what does matter is how well the car been taken care of.

It depends on how well it has been maintained and cared for.
