Why would anyone in their right mind pay more for this antenna and mount than they would for a stand alone gps with antenna and mount? This is the ultimate example of a company taking advantage of iPod/iPhone lunacy.

It’s advertised as a “Complete GPS Solution”, but doesn’t include the 70 dollar navigation software! The iphone is tricky to get in and out so it doesn’t act as a convenient car dock.
Much better off buying a GPS for the $200 dollars this costs in total.
Magellan should be ashamed of themselves.

I bought this $130 “complete navigation solution” as it it billed to use with an iPhone or iPod, only to learn that it requires the $60 Magellan application sold separately. What a huge disappointment! If I wanted to spend $190 on a navigation system, I would have bought one complete … rather than a “solution” which doesn’t work without an additional purchase.
This is on-top of a near 2-month delay to receive this product. I ordered the product in November with promised delivery in December. December came and went, and Xmas was missed … presumably by the manufacturer. I received a delay notice from Amazon & cancelled the order. Then it shipped anyway. Another disappointment.
Don’t jump on this one … I fully expect the price to come down … lots. No way it this worth $130 FOR A CRADLE. In fact, you will be able to find mine for sale on *bay.

There are much better (and cheaper) options. Magellan has one of the worst speaker systems in the business, and the software itself isn’t that great. (read the so many negative reviews on majellan gps products) So download one of the cheaper navigational iphone apps and velcro your phone to the dashboard. That’s what I did, and it works great. I paid a one time fee of $19.99 (won’t mention the brand because that’s not what this review is for) for the software (one time) and about a nickel’s worth of velcro.
I’d probably rate with 3-4 stars if it was priced more reasonably. Further, I’ve dealt with magellan regarding their very old and outdated mapping on a previous unit I’ve used - and in my opinion have the worst customer service in the electronics industry! They seemingly just don’t care and have very little pride in their work.

Beware! This thing comes with no software. You have to buy/download the app.. and it’s $79.
