The Cruise control “Amplifier” is the most common problem of the system.The control servo linked to the throttle linkage is the next usually failed part. Check “power” @ servo if none, check power inputs to Amplifier,if ok then problem is inside amp. which requires replacement. Good luck!

If the problem can be traced to the cruise control amplifier don’t automatically chuck it out. Pull it apart and re-solder all the electronic joints you can find using a 25Watt earthed soldering iron. If you can’t do it yourself get some electronic hobbyist to do it. This has saved a few c.c.amplifiers from ’80s S class MBs.
