My friend asked me to help him try to fix his car. I really know nothing about mercedes so here I am. Auto parts stores dont seem to have manuals. I do know it has no spark and seems to be no fuel. There is also a clicking noise comming from around the rear view mirror. It just stopped going down the road. I lean toward the computer but which one. And if you could run a obd scanner on it would it be worth the cost.
Thanks,
Drew

Is Your car a diesel? if it is that could explain the lack of spark.

It may be problem with fuel delivery, fuel pump or distributor and if you got no spark, system shuts down fuel supply. So a scanner is worth the money if you suspect problem with the electronics.

First check all the fuses. Then check to see if the engine block has 0 Ohms to the chassis (body). Correct any faults found here. Turn the ignition on without starting the car while helper is listening near the rear wheel well. The fuel pump should cycle if the vehicle has not been run or ignition turned on within the last 2 hours. If all these are OK, get the OBDII scan tool and write down all codes and start looking for answers. There is a Haynes manual on Amazon.com. The Mercedes Benz USA CD manual is confusing and not worth the $55.00 they want for it.
