Can anyone tell me why my central locking has stopped working on my mercedes A class please?
Add commentsMy central locking has stopped working. i thought it was the batteries in the remote so i changed them but now the indicators flash but the locks do not work . currently the boot is locked and the fuel cap. i have to lock and unlock drivers door manually. i have tried to synchronise the system as per manual but it still doesnt work. i have also checked the central locking fuse. the button in the centre of the car does not work either. is this a job for mercedes or will an auto electrician be able to do it? anybody any ideas please?

Take it back to the dealer. It sounds like there is a general electrical malfunction. Depending on the age of your car it may be a simple thing as a burnt out fuse. However, if your car is still under warranty take it back to the dealer.

This works on a vacumn system. Most likley the vacumn pump has failed or there is a leak in the system. Dealer will charge about $1,200.00 to around $800.00. After all it is a Benz!
