no, its actually the other way around, they pay less. since these high price, cars do not require much troubleshooting, its mostly just expensive “parts swapping” that any novice tech can do.

I’m not sure that it matters so much ‘where’ you work as much as it matters how ‘experienced’ YOU are. If you’re a certified mechanic with a lot of experience I would think you’d be able to command a higher salary at whatever place of business chooses to employ you.
You won’t make as much starting out but it’s something you’ll have to work your way up with - just like most other careers.
