Front Window on auto does not fully close in Mercedes?

Add comments

Hi, I have a 2004 Mercedes C230 Kompressor Sport. It was recently broken into and they broke my front driver and passenger windows. I purchased the original panes from my local dealership and installed them without making any configuration at all, basically tried to install them as close to the original installation as possible.

After the installation, the passenger front window began to close only 90%. Let me explain. After I put all of my windows down using the automatic controller. I then use the same controller to put all of my windows up at once. The right passenger goes up with the rest, but after it closes, it automatically goes down again about 3 inches. If I try to use the automatic controller to put it up, it keeps doing this, until I hold the controller up.

I do not know what sort of a glitch this is, but it happens occasionally and drives me crazy, because I leave the car put all of my windows up, and then just when I am about to get out and lock the car, the right window is down a bit.

Please help me out, and I do thank you in advance.

Andrew.
Hey, Rob, I think you have the correct answer, and I actually did the synchronization previously, but I did not do the sunroof. So, once I do hopefully everything works out.

Thanks.

I am a Mercedes Tech, the windows have a normalization procedure. Use the one touch up button when it is at the top and hold it to close the window till it is all the way closed and continue to hold for about 5 more seconds. Then use the one touch down to open the window and hold it till it is all the way down. continue to hold for about 5 seconds. This should normalize the window. If not make sure you are holding the window one touch feature all the way down/up and not letting go until the times listed above.

I have a 2000 CLK 430 (the W208) and have the same problem. Only my window “staggers” (I’m not quite sure how else to describe it). I press the auto up and the window stops about halfway up. I press and hold the button and it goes up a bit further and then stops again. It does this about three times, and the only way I can get it closed is to go through this routine.

I read Rob’s reply and wonder if I have the same problem? I have a similar problem with my sunroof. I’ve blamed the Chrysler electronics (and the only problems I’ve had in nine years with this car is electrical), and wonder if there’s one single fix (new ECU, perhaps?).

Sorry for piggy-backing on your question.
