MB USA has factor reps that go to all dealers and make sure they are doing things correctly. How your car is serviced is up to the person more than anything. All dealers send techs to school every year to learn how to service new models, and like any job some tech’s are better than others so I do not think you can break it down by owners. When I worked at an MB dealer the only factory stores where in Hollywood CA, and New York City. Go to the dealer that treats you well and is customer service oriented. That may mean you buy the car at one dealer and service it at an other sa some service departments are better than others.

I agree with the above answer completely. Also, just ask them who owns them, it’s no big secret. Also, talk to others that have a MBZ and ask them about their service satisfaction with the dealer. Although there are compay standards, the personality of the service writer and the level of technician can always very. Hope this helps!

The first answer is still correct. The only MB corporate stores are in NY and CA. The rest are privately owned. However, they must all meet high minimum standards as set by the corporation or they risk loosing their franchise.
While some will be better than others, it’s more really the people you end up dealing with when your car is in for service and the technician working on your car, the service adviser you deal directly with, the parts people handling the ordering of parts, the tower operator that books the time, etc. that really completes the experience. Some are better than others and even a good person can have a bad day… In other words, you may have a great experience at a location that’s not ranked very highly or vice-versa.

As of October 2008 the only dealership owned by MBUSA was in Manhattan, all others are privately owned. The service departments have CSI scores (Customer Satisfaction Index) that vary from very good to not-so-good.
I’m not sure how the ownership would affect trade-in issues. It would be unusual for dealer to do a thorough inspection before offering a deal on a trade-in. Just make sure the car is clean inside and out, then go in and make your best deal.
