Have you used the auto service that comes to your house (in L.A.) to repair paint scratches in your car?

I don’t mean dent repairs…..just the nicks that happen from various things.
My son was tapped from behind and there are what I would describe as “fingernail scratches” in the white paint of his rear bumper (Mercedes). He was quoted $250. This seems outrageous.
Are you paying a high amount for the service of the person doing mobile work, i.e., coming to your house?

NO it would be a bit far to drive. I live in South Carolina.

The price is not unreasonable if he is actually going to repaint and clearcoat the bumper. Sometimes what looks to be like light scratches are actually thin cracks in the paint.

However, if the scratches can be wet sanded and buffed, then $250 is too high. Most mobile paint repair services would probably do that job for $100 or less, depending to travel time/trip charges.

You would need to ask the service tech exactly what he was going to do to repair the bumper. An honest tech would have nothing to hide and would answer the question without hesitation.
