How soon will the US auto industry be like the US Postal Service?

Add comments

Do you think the auto industry will survive Obama’s absurd new “cafe” standards?
The US auto industry will fail unless they become taxpayer subsidized. Just like the lame USPS.

Of course Toyota, BMW, Lexus. Mercedes Benz, etc. etc.. wont have a problem with them, they are foreign manufactures.
I’m confident that Obama and congress will not hold foreign manufacturers to those same standards. They will be free to sell their cars and SUV’s, even if they don’t meet the standards.
Hey Bob. Compared to what?
Any private sector company could do what the USPS does and twice as well for half the cost and taxpayers would not have to subsidize it.
Everyone knows that.
You must be a postal employee.

I wish I shared you confidence about the government not holding foreign manufacturers to the same standards. Sadly, I expect that unless the American people refuse to vote for the anti-american-prosperity political crowd that safe SUVs and affordable pick-up trucks will be a thing of the past.

To answer your question, my guess is it will happen as soon as the workers realize they have their jobs no matter what the quality of their work is.

The USPS did not “fail”. In fact, year after year, every survey finds people consider the USPS the most reliable, trustworthy and productive aspect of the federal government.

The auto industry wishes it were the USPS.

Do you have any idea what you’re talking about?
