Replacing the rear bumper on a Mercedes? ?

Add comments

So I backed into a low pole while parking today and banged my rear bumper. My car is a 2002 Mercedes Benz ML320, a fair part of the bumper has broken off, so I assume that it will have to be replaced. Does anyone know how much it will cost? A ballpark figure is fine, I just don’t want to be too shocked when I go to the auto body shop.

The bumper itself is approx. $800 brand new from Benz (but there are several different bumpers depending on what options you may have). It would also have to be prepped and painted to match by the body shop. As a very rough guess, I’d say about $1500 for everything.

You may be able to find a decent use bumper for less. If you’re really lucky, you may find a used bumper that is the same colour as your truck so it would become a straight swap with no painting required.
