Hi there, the car is still available for the price of 5.800 EUR and that I am awfully sorry for the late reply. The car is in excellent overall condition, never involved in an accident. The car is still Irish registered.I worked in Ireland for 2 years and the company i worked for was dissolved and i had to move back to UK. I am selling it for this price because the UK registration taxes are to expensive for me.
Please get back to me.
— On Sun, 28/6/09, Kenneth O’ Neill From: Kenneth O’ Neill Hi Jane, I currently own a ‘01 BMW 3 series and a ‘01 Mercedes S320 and have decided to sell the 3.2 litre Mercedes as I can’t justify forking out the exorbitant €1566 per annum road tax - and the 17-20 mpg isn’t an incentive to keep it either. I just checked and the tax on your own 3 litre isn’t much cheaper. I was actually just going back to my BMW until I saw your ad, and despite the high tax bracket I’m still interested because it’s a more fuel economical diesel. Maybe I could have a look at it as soon as suits you? Ken. ————————————–… The car is in eBay’s custody in London, UK and they have the right to handle the transaction in my name. (END) - I just got that last reply a few minutes ago. The ad has since been removed ( I just checked as I wanted to show you it via a link) and in that ad the registration was partially whited out. What say you and how should I respond? Looking forward to your replies. By the way - the ad was in Carzone.ie and NOT on Ebay as you may been misleadingly led to believe by the latest communication there.

If we come to an agreement the car will be delivered directly to your home address and the shipping&insurance cost will be 300EUR, and i think it would be fair to split the costs in half, so we will have to pay 150EUR each. The car will be shipped by truck and that will take up to 3 days. The transaction will be fully under eBay’s surveillance, giving us both security and insurance that nothing will go wrong. They are acting like an inter agent in this transaction. From the moment the car arrives at your address, you have 5 days to see and test it which way you like. Within this period you have to decide if you purchase it or not.
To register this transaction at eBay, I will need your full name, address and a contact number.

Sounds dodgy. Too much trouble. There will be other cars that you can see fro yourself and test drive without the hassle. I would leave it.

no dont do it, if it sais delivered to you, or asks for a full name its most likely a scam. even the address, your asking for trouble. i have fallen into a few scams and i know what to watch for and this is definatly a red flag. move on.

Being a car lover and owner of a BMW I would say that a car of that nature should be around -/+ 20K…. Either there is something wrong vis a vis hit or stolen or it is a scam…Prob ask you for a dep. first and then a viewing…but €5,800 is so so cheap for that make/model and year even if there is 600k on the clock…Im Irish too and I dont like the sound of it….its normally the other way round when us Irish are brining the car into Ireland…. Ask for a viewing at least and see…but what normally looks too good to be true IS…..Gl m8

I don’t believe Ebay ever physically has anything that is for sale. They only advertise and use paypal to broker the sale and monies. This has scam written all over it. Run away.

This is a scam. Stay well away.

If they offer to ship it, it’s a scam.

Ebay doesn’t hold cars, that’s BS from the beginning - and then his means of shipment confirm it. Total Scam, ignore him.

I recently had a “Jane” email me about a car I inquired about…2007 Camry 50th anniversary edition - $4950! I wrote and said it was mispriced but the response I got was that a story about her being relocated to UK. The car is in storage in VA and that she would ship it to me. She gave me the VIN number and everything…sent multiple pictures…I wrote back and asked if I could go test drive and see it for myself. I am awaiting a response…not sure I will get one…

I agree with you 100% on the idea that just because a story is no longer canon it doesn’t mean it can’t still be enjoyed on it’s own merits. A lot of my favourite DC comic stories don’t even rely on the main continuity yet still manage to be iconic and brilliant interpretations of the characters (Grant Morrison’s All Star Superman’ comes to mind).
