I have a 1996 mercedes s500, with a viper alarm system. I ran my battery down and needed a recharge. MBRS came out and with their special jump box and the car started rightup. I left the car running for about 45 minutes per their request.
Now here is the problem…once I locked the doors, and am now trying to drive, the alarm system ativates and won’t allow the engine to turn over. I called MB service and they advised me to lock and unlock doors to reset, made several attempts at this without success. I also talked with a Viper alarm tech, and he advised to turn ignition to on, engage the inside hidden botton twice and hold…nothing
MB also said the battery could be low, or who knows…any advice would be greatly appreciated, thankz

we have a land rover discovery n reg and it has a secondary battery that when the main one is removed it will fire the alarm. because yours completely flattened and is a more complex system so you will probably need a complete new system or it to be specially reset sorry but don’t just take my word i am no expert

By disconnecting and removing the battery and then replacing it, you activated the anti-theft device in your car. If you arm and disarm the anti-theft device, it should reset. If this does not work using the remote, try locking and unlocking the driver side door with the key.

Try this stop the car turn off the engine close the door (make sure all doors are closed then set your alarm then open the door by your alarm then the engine should stop bothering you. If it dosen’t then it must be affected by the jumper or the battery is too low. If the battery is law try the horn.

The battery Could be low as you have been told, you usually have a battery in the alarm siren that may be a bit flat. If anyone steals the car and tries to cut the alarm siren wire the battery back up will keep the alarm siren going. For this to work though, both your car battery and the alarm battery need to be fully charged. Try connecting the car battery to a charger and leaving it over night. This will also charge the alarm battery.
