Business Industry….?

Is it true that a car manufacture doesn’t create most things (themselves) they put on cars, but getting parts from one big company?

For example people think Mercedes-Benz invented the smart key fob, but they really didn’t…its just they was first to purchase that base key from an auto company. Lexus could do the same, but they decided to purchase another form of keys from the same auto companies… This is not just with automobile companies, but in general with every company in the business industry..which gives a clear reason why every car is out together the same and made with the same parts.

People say that each car company copies off of one another by stripping down other make cars and finding out how other makes put certain things together. If that’s true, then why is every single car part on all cars 100% accurate? Therefor its one big company that other companies purchase their parts from!

Your guesses are partially correct but your assumptions are incorrect. Yes, large auto manufacturers “outsource” various parts from other companies. Yes many manufacturers buy certain parts from the same sources, but they each submit specifications for the parts they want to buy. The major manufacturers do not buy all their outsourced parts from the same companies. In point of fact, GM and Ford each outsource from over a thousand companies and the overlap is less then 30%. The reason the outsourced parts are 100% accurate is because they are built to the specifications submitted by the company that orders them. If the outsourced parts are not accurate when received from the “jobber” the company will simply stop ordering from that particular jobber and find another source for that particular part. They do this in order to maintain the quality that you as the buyer want in a new car.
