SCAR (Super Cheap Auto Racing) owner Paul Morris has retired from racing so i suggest he first works on fixing his own team before he continually criticizes the whole of V8 Supercars.
He has now come out and said quote “the category is to blame for breeding a generation of ‘boring’ V8 Supercar drivers.”
He thinks that the personalities of todays driver are so boring that fans will not be intereseted because of this. So what do you think?
Are all the drivers just boring and do nothing but drive for their teams?
I think not. Away from the track the drivers and teams are partcipating in events that are helping to strengthen our sport.
eg. The team Vodafone boys Lowndes and Whincup, they have raced Mclaren Mercedes F1 drivers Hamilton and Kovalainen last year as part of a promotion by Vodafone by having a small kayak race at Melbourne last year, also the year before they had a competition againest two boys from an AFL club by climbing a rock wall.
Not only that but at every round of the V8’s you get the chance to meet the drivers and owners and get stuff signed and have a photo taken. Sure some people want more but i’m sure that that would be better then the teams just shutting themselves away for the whole weekend.
So is Paul Morris right that the new breed is boring, or do the drivers give and show as much of themselves to the public with the little time they have between testing, travelling, family commitments, team commitments and other obligations?

No he is not right but by boring is he trying to say that they should drive like there in a monster truck much like he does. Although the HRT boys have let it slip of field in the last few years. Team vodafone definitely take top honours for of field work and I must add on field as well good team and pairing.
