The proof is rite under our noses If take a min. to see how other country’s economies are booming. Lets take a look at The Democratic nation of Germany,..
“How Germany Created Jobs by Going Green”
President Obama says investing in a “green economy” can create 5 million jobs in the next 10 years. How? The answer may lie in Germany. The country that is home to Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen is on its way to making its green sector larger than its auto industry by 2020, according to a recent study. Germany has developed 250,000 new jobs in renewable energy, including nearly 50,000 wind-power jobs in the last five years alone.
The government worked to promote a green culture through all levels of society. ”We started with simpler parts, like automating systems in office buildings to use less power,” says Elmar Bollin, a director of research in Baden-Württemberg. Financial incentives were given to people who retrofitted their homes with renewable sources. Police officers ticketed polluting cars that drove in emission-reduction zones. Competitions challenged citizens to see who could save the most power. Schoolchildren in the city of Heidelberg who devised and implemented successful plans received some of the money they saved to use in their classrooms.

But it’s not just in Germany and the rest of the EU that America’s environmental reputation has taken a beating.
A 37-nation survey published in June as part of the “Global Attitudes Project” of the Washington-based Pew Center showed that there is a “general increase in the percentage of people citing pollution and environmental problems as a top global threat.”
If the Republicans get back in Power they plan to reverse Obama’s plans and efforts to move the U.S. toward a green energy future.The oil Co.s have the $$ and technology to take the lead in green energy, But their Greed for the Fast buck has them hiring actors who look like average working folk to make these misleading commercials. They don’t seem to care that Foreign Oil is the #1 funding for the Terrorists our troops are dying to defeat !

I don’t need “proof” that the oil companies are lying, just like I don’t need proof that the sun is shining or that water is wet.
Big Oil is only about ONE thing - more profit.
One could indeed make the argument that it is Big Oil keeping us intertwined with terrorism and bleeding the American coffers dry in the neverending black hole of Defense spending, Homeland Security funding, and wars on two fronts — for what? All in the name of the “war on terror?”
If we could just wean ourselves from the black evil sludge, we could disengage ourselves from the quagmire called the Middle East - once and for all.

For every one green job we create here, we create 15 in China. You see, the green tech is American. the makers of the green energy products are in China. Look at the American light bulb industry. The ‘world’ banned those ‘awful’ energy-hogging incandescent bulbs. Now we have the ‘efficient’ made in China lead filled bulbs. Shipped in leaky cargo ships across the globe to our shores. Thousands of American jobs LOST, and the politicians called this ‘progress’ towards a better future. ALL A SCAM.

It’s already pretty obvious that current green energy technology is devastating to economies. Look at the places that have already tried it like Spain where it caused a permanent surge in unemployment. Wind and solar simply are not ready for large scale use yet. Nuclear is the only real option right now.
What you have to look at is what is the economic cost of green energy being significantly more expensive to produce. That cost is spread throughout the entire economy as it means all businesses will need to pay much higher energy costs. Only a fool would think that won’t impact jobs and economic activity.

I noticed you made no mention about Spain going green and the failures they have had.

People like you will never understand that yes, there are pros AND cons to every decision made. There is no truly great decision that has no negatives. Wind power will NEVER put out anywhere close to what nuclear power can. Solar has the same problem and is unreliable. Nuclear power companies where stopped by leftist enviromentalists back in the eighties. Because of the left, we have many nuclear power facilities that are half built. The nuclear power plant in my town started back on a second unit a few years ago, this move has been protested against by thousands of people from enviromental groups, the left. So what is the answer????
Our local power company has been trying to move from coal power to nuclear power since the seventies, while strong opposition to this comes from the left. Nuclear power is easier and cheaper than coal, the incentive for this change over is already there. You people will never understand the energy market in this country so why do you try and act smart about a subject you know nothing about.

what the oil companies don’t tell you is that Amerca is spending over $400 billion per year (as high as $700 during high oil prices) and giving that money to other countries, some of which are not friendly. It also cost billions more in military to secure the oil supply and stabilize middle east. It’s an awfull waste of money that can be better spent in the USA. Consider too that renewable only cost during installation- there are not ups and down of fuel costs and the supply is forever. Emmisions and the environment are just a bonus.
